    Monitor Refresh Problem

Iam temporarily using an old graphics card as the one I normally use died (I keep everything no matter how old, I even have my first 286 in the roof)

Anyway I am using a Geforce2 64mb Mx400 and when I turn on the pc I get black lines either side of the screen and the display squashed int he middle. If I readjust the size to fill the screen it looks stretched. When I play a game the displays changes again and I have to reduce the size of the screen. I think it is the graphics card but I am not sure. Help!!

I have already decided to get a 9800 pro but not his month as I am still setting up my adsl modem and router.

GF2 were known for poor '2D' image quality, but you may find the problem is simply down to tweaking Windows, esp telling it what Monitor you have (and ensuring it uses the correct refresh rate). Be sure to use the latest drivers from manu (more compatible?) or nVidia (most up to date).
