    Dell X850XTPE Poll

Having checkerboard issues with this card in a brand new SB95Pv2

Asus X800XTPE seems perfect in same system

is anyone else experiencing issues in Shuttle systems ?

thought I could set up a poll easily, but obviously I am too stoopid

cheers, got confused when doing original thread, but works fine after thread created.

my problems are as stated above, started to get checkerboard effect on desktop today, built system yesterday evening, also had a few lock ups and reboots. On reboot I was getting corruption on pre windows load boot screen.

swapped out the 850 for my 800, and pre windows boot screen and desktop are perfect now, so gonna load a few stressful games to thoroughly check, bit early to tell but lockups so far haven't occured.

Tried the 850 briefly in a Dell Dimension 5000 and it seemed fine, but I needed a dual slot chassis for the XTPE hence the new SB95P, guess I will be returning the 850 and selling the Dim5000 now, unless I have messed up all the ati drivers with my constant card changing over past few days . A full format might be the answer, but thought I would try for some feedback here 1st

sounds like heat problems tbh. But don't quote me as I don't know what I'm talking about.

Especially in a shuttle where air flow is very low.

With my 6800GT i had to get rid of my shuittle and get a full size PC.

You probably have the same problem I do with heat in my SB68i, Public Relations at Shuttle said I should not be putting the hardware I am in my box as its not on their validated compatability report.

Ah well, looks like the R423 Asus is staying and the Dell is going then

a couple more posts and its off to the "for sale" forum methinks

pain in the neck having to qualify, seeing as I already have a faultless Hexus rating from a few years back btw

been better, would be worse if I hadn't also bought a set of Z-5500 speakers along with my Shuttle, they thankfully are spot on
