    x800AiW - When?

I have been waiting very paitently for the release of the x800 all-in-wonder and my patience is beginning to wear out.

I saw posted on Hexus' front page that it should be very soon, how soon? when?

Today I very nearly bought another card - a non AiW, an even worse an nvidia.

Come on ATi, I need a new gfx card, there has been talk of the x800 AiW since the x800 was released and press shots of it back in September. Its now 6 months later, wheres the card?

Nice review, still doesn't answer my question though .......

So there are a few out for reviews/testing, when can we (the public) get them?

    - Mass production starts
    - Lots of product available

We always aim to get from start to finish in less than 30 days (with some products, we have them in mass production already by the time the press get them)

However, when you are talking about a pretty complex product (i.e. millions of bits all working together in a clever way)...

...then the gap from the first to last entries could be 10 to 14 weeks (worst case)

There is nothing blocking the mass production and shipping of these cards...

    ...so I am optimistic

    Thanks for the reply Andrzej.

Basically what you're saying is betweeen 1 and 3 months.

Well, I've been waiting over 6 months ....... another 1, hopefully just 1 won't make much difference.

    Thumbs up

I just got word from Andrzej that he's talked to people within ATI about availability and they confirm that that ASICs and PCB designs are in the hands of ATI's AIW board partners and the first PAL boards will be around in the UK within 2 to 3 weeks.

    His words, just to confirm:

"ATI has confirmed that these cards will be available in UK retail in less than 3 weeks"

    Cheers!

3 weeks, you have no idea how good that sounds after all this time

Rys: You do realise if they're not out in 3 weeks I want the one you reviewed

It's immensely frustrating, and slightly annoying from my point of view since I believed what Andrzej told me on MSN that morning, that the PAL boards aren't for sale in the UK yet.

I have one sitting in my office, which I haven't had the time to build into my own HTPC yet, yet you guys can't pick them up with your own hard earned. Disappointing.

We'll talk to ATI today and see what they have to say. Sorry for the wait!

Don't worry Rys, I can put it to use for you, I'll even let you have the passive 9200 AiW out of my HTPC, you know you want to

I am now officially very unhappy to say the least ......

Sources said that at least three of ATI's partners are likely to ship product, with retail boxes available in early May.
    Taken from Theinquirer

Another month ........... if you believe them

I sincerely wish there was another alternative as i would buy that TOMORROW

Well, time for another bump ..... yawn.

The way things are going I might just wait for the r520 AiW as that will prob be here sooner than the x800 AiW

I could probably do without an AiW card, but I've been using them for years and once you get used to them they are simply brilliant and I don't want to go back to a non-AiW.

Apart from that I don't own a tv/video recorder, everything goes through my pc - and I need 2 cards so I can record 1 channel and watch another simultaneously.
