bonkers. How long before someone asks "I wonder if they'll make a board for four dual GPU cards?"

The cards for that beast would cost more than my entire system. Can you say "CPU limited?"

    Yeah, but it's a P4 board! WTF!

If they can figure out how to hook an NForce-4 AMD chipset to the NForce-4 Intel edition to act as a southbridge, surely they could have just used the NForce4-Pro 2200 and 2050 and taken 8 PCI-E lanes from each.

Pretty wacky. I think it's funny that they did it for P4, but if you think about it CPU power has almost nothing to do with 3DMark03 and 05. Those benches and DX9.0 games are almost all videocard. I'm sure they'll have AMD 64 versions if they are serious, but they may not come along until Gigabyte confirms that people will be interested in such a beast.

Pretty smart of nVidia. Now, everytime one of those crazy motherboards sells they are almost certain to sell 4 highend videocards.

RAEV (Redundant Array of Expensive Videocards) is born.

I think it is also a technology statement and something which the press will talk about

A lot of these companies have showcase products in order to deliver stuff for the press to talk about - meaning 6200 or X300 is not exactly 'sexy'
