As Dell has a sale on again, I've been thuinking of a new lcd, or possibly 2.
What are peoples general thoughts on things - I'm thinking of either a 20" (widresceen more than likely) or 2 x 17".
Anyone?

Well what will they (or it) be used for? If you want to watch films and game then the 20" will probably be better (though you can use the internet, msn, etc whilst watching/playing with 2 monitors which is quite cool). Whereas the two 17s will be much more suited to things where you need more than one window open, such as web design or programming. Much easier than resizing the windows and moving them about.
Will be used for a bit of both, however I would mostly be doing development at work and not home. I like the idea of 2 monitors, however perhaps the single larger one woudl be better. I'm currently using a single 17" LCD but miss having 1600 x 1200 like I did on my old 21" CRT.
how about having a 20in and a 17in dual setup :)
I currently use a 19in tft coupled with a dell 20in widescreen, dual screen is much more useful than a single 24in dell I used to have
I've got one of the 24" dells on order, before their price increase.
The 20" ones are stunning monitors, if you think 2 monitors will be of benefit to you, then two will be better. Personally, i can't see how i can use two monitors, so i went for a single big one!
I use 2x 19" TFTs and it's so great! I've got MSN, vids and other misc. programs on my secondary screen and webpage/work on the primary. If you get 2x 17 inchers you'll still be able to comfortably play games and watch movies (as long as you're not accross the room from them). You'll also get a much larger work area.
I had to debate with myself as to wether a dual setup would be any benefit over 1 large screen. In the end the 'cool factor' of the duals won me over.
I've never looked back since, currently have 2 x 17's and going for a 20" for inbetween sometime soon.
Trust me, you wont regret it.
Make it dual 20" (24" even better)
Since webpages usually work best in 800 width, so with 20" you can read 2 at the same time, while 640 is a bit too narrow (if you trying to do the same with 17")
