    5.5 Cat problems

Just installed the 5.5 cats n getting some pretty interesting issues with them...

everything draws slowly on the screen from top to bottom, irritating to say the least, try to turn off VPU recovery and when I hit apply major corruption and I have to reboot, when windows comes back up its still redrawing slowly.
everything was fine on the 4.6's I had on before, any input from our resident ATi geezer?

Sounds like Smartgart isn't working properly..

Like mike_w has suggested try driver cleaner.

Restart PC in safemode (By pressing F8 before windows loads)
Remove the ATI drivers and Motherboard drivers using Add\Remove programs,
Also remove any program that can effect the drivers like ATI tools, radlinker e.t..c

Now run a registry cleaner program like System mechanic or reg cleaner and clean any links to ATI or your motherboard drivers.

Now run Driver cleaner and remove all traces of ATI and any others that have anything to do with your motherboard.

Now restart, re-install motherboard drivers and then restart, install the ATI drivers and utilitys.

    Hope this helps you
