Iteresting bit of news on the Hexus home page.
No doubt much will be made of this but ATI is just paying for the inclusion of HL2 in certain Gfx bundles.... are they not?

Most likely but it does cast a conspicuous shadow over things ... it will make ATI's new cards even more 'must have' (to have the game inc) BUT I think the perf diffs would have carried far more clout if ATI had left it well alone ... and they wouldn't have had to hold back releases either. ATI aren't going to be really giving the game away 'free', some of that $6million will be made back up with a wee little bit added to the cost of the card ... now was that Canadian or US $?
i'm assuming it's USD around 3.5 million in english or if it's Canadian dollars about 2.6 million GBP.
A significant amount anyway.
Id have thought so, considering Valve spent 4x the time on nvidia coding than ATi and still cant get their cards to perform as well. I doubt its thru "bias".Originally posted by Sk!mD4Rk
