    Angry 9700 pro now dead!

Yesterday my 9700 pro died due to the fact that my ati silencer suddenly stopped working, causing the card to overheat. I am going to RMA the cooler, but what about the dead card? Do you think I can make a claim from Arctic Cooling for the damage caused by a faulty cooler?

    Thanks

Hmmm you might get told that it's your fault for not fitting it right. I think you'll have a job getting them to buy you a new card, if you haven't got proof. Good luck though, it's worth a try I spose.

The thing is though that I did fit it correctly and it was working fine for a couple of months. I guess it is impossible to prove it.

If the coolers broke, and they can test it and find the fan isnt working then they cant say it was incorrectly fitted, as even if it was fitted 100% correct, with no fan your cards gonna be screwed.

Their fault, whether they'll buy you a new card is another matter, you'll get a refund for your cooler or a RMA I bet, but I wouldnt hold in hope of a new card

Nah they wont, theres no 100% way of proving the cooler failing caused the card to die, something else could have broken at the same time, harsh but thats what a lot of companys use to get them out of this sort of situation.
