Can anyone reccomend me a good quality Tuner that supports DVB (Pref DAB too). Doesn't have to have its own aerial. But would be preffered.

If you want to get a good Freeview signal then an external aerial is a must.
I have used the Hauppauge Nova-T PCI cards a few times and have been very sucessful but whatever you do, do not use Hauppauges drivers and software, it's poor to say the least. I have found the BDA drivers from TechTrend (they make the card for Hauppauge) and MediaPortal to be an ideal setup.
Not tried a card with DAB built-in as I still use my old Wavefinder for that.
You dont really need DAB as well as you get the majority of Digital Radio Stations through Free View. I have a few set top boxes and a samsung tv with an intergrated tuner. But have never tried the PC ones. Some of them have limeted surport for interactive stuff and the like so be careful.
I have an aerial which gets me perfect freeview in my room. Its just teh card I want so I can record to DVD.
All Freeview cards have an aeial socket on them so your sorted then :D.Quote:

the nebula digitv card seems to be very good

@Rave and Chemical Ali: Ta for that, looks cheap compared to the rest of the stuff available.
I paid about £40 for the DVB-T200 at Scan. The 300 is similar but it can do analogue TV as well as digital. No use to me.
Anyway I had a bit of a nightmare with the card. I just couldn't get Compro's supplied software to work no matter what I tried, it would BSOD the computer a couple of seconds after starting up. It doesn't seem to like the NForce2 audio drivers for some reason. After a frustrating couple of hours I downloaded Media Portal which is freeware PVR software. That got it working, although it's a bit of a fiddle. The main problem is that it's pretty laggy changing channels or resizing the screen, it takes a good 5 seconds to sort itself out. I really don't know if that's the fault of the card, the software, or my computer (which is a Tbred at 12x185- 2.2GHz, 1GB RAM). The quality of the picture, whether live or recorded, is spot on though, so overall I'm happy.
One other problem is that Media Portal stops recording when the filesize hits 8GB (about 4 hours). Yesterday that happened just before The Who came on stage, so I have no recording of them or of Floyd. Very irritating indeed:rant:.
The T200 works beautifully with Media Center 2005. Forget the built in apps - they are *useless*. The card is excellent once you got rid of the software, even through an amplifed antenna. Also forget the remote, also useless. Good thing its flawless in Media Center.
Rave, pink floyd live8 performance is all over the net. Shouldnt take long to find it.
I'm currently using 2 x Nova-T PCI cards in Media Centre 2005. This allows me to record 1 channel while watching another :)
Again, the software supplied is made redundant as is the remote as media centre takes care of all the tuning and recording software.
just bought the compro t300
which indoor aerial are you guys using for your digital tv tuner or which is the best indoor aerial?
what he said, but "mythtv & linux" instead of "media centre 2005"Quote:
