6600gt

My friend has jsut changed from a ti4600 to a 6600 GT, and since the installation, he cant run any 3D applications in direct x. It reboots the system or crashes. He thought it might be his psu so got a new one. he also replaced the 6600 Gt for another brand. When it crashes there is still a picture, and the monitor doesnt standby.
Specs are below:
::> asrock k8t combo z
::> amd athlon 64 3000
::> corsair ddr400 512
::> tagan 480 watt
::> 28amps on the +12v line

Make sure you have the latest windows and Nvidia drivers. Mine gave me alot of greif when i got it, its fine now

I cant see anything else that might be causeing it in the spec. Tryed formatting?

motherboard probably doesn't like 6600GT's or something daft like that.

Try the card in another computer.

you plugged in the power cable to the card?
