    6600GT Vs 6800GT- when using a TFT 1280x1024

I have read a few places now that there is no real difference in performace between a 6600GT and 6800GT if you are using a TFT, because the 6800GT only comes into it's own when using monster resolutions above 1280x1024. At 1280x1024, framerates will be pretty much the same for boths cards at the same settings.

Is this true or is this complete BS?

Its Bollocks. Especially once you start putting AA and AF on will be a big difference at 1024x768 nevermind higher.

Don't forget that games will require more and more as time goes on - you should always try and see how long any component can practically last, and if that's long enough for you.

6800GT probably wont last you THAT long.. but its far longer than what a 6600GT can last you... 6600GT's are already crawling on current generation games, let alone future games. BTW, 6600GT in SLi isn't fast enuf to even catch up with a 6800GT

You could always get the new ULi based motherboards when they come out, they have AGP and PCIE Support on them then change ur GFX at a later date
