Just download ATiTool (http://www.rechpowerup.com/atitool) and try 'Find Max Core' en 'Find Max Mem', it will give you pretty save results.

or you can just go up 5MHz or 10MHz at a time untill you reach a limit, it works for me, however it takes lots of time
your computer is similar to a fridge in that if it cannot keep a beer cold then it sucks

the "find max" is exeedingly dodgy, in that 99% of the time it will go too far and either crash the machine or make it artifact in which case you will need to restart.

Most if, not all X850XTPE's should be good upto around 610-620mhz before requireing a Vmod to get it higher.

Temperature is very likley to be what will limit it here, but you should be able to get ~610 if the ACS 5 is as good as people say.

Max temperature will be around 80-90c before it becomes unstable.

    Scrap ATI-Tool it's crap.

The best thing to do is run Rivatuner, and clock it manually 5-10mhz at a time. Loop the 3dmark 2001 nature test (as this will get the X850 core hottest out of anything), and Run 3dmark 03 to test for artifacts on the memory.

Or you could just play a few games, but not as good IMO.

Of course I would never condone overclocking a product past the point at which the manufacturer had tested it prior to sale...

...but if I were to comment at all...

...then I would say that the 3rd game test in 3DMark05 is actually brilliant for spotting artefacts because even though the test stresses the card - there are still large areas of white - so it is very easy to see 'wrong bits' against that kind of background...

    ...or so I have heard

Thats core. the ram on these cards get very hot without better cooling, so I havent tryed on mine yet. Ram never usually gets very far anyway....

Of course, I could not condone the ways of 'the OC-Meister'...

...but I have heard tell that it will ramp right up by almost 200MHz in some cases
