will there be an improvment between 9200 to 9550?

i have now Radeon 9200 V.card, and it sucks.
only problem is i'm broke! so i can't afford to buy a new V.card, not even the 6200!
but i have the chance to buy a second hand 9550 V.card, and since i can't buy anything stronger, i was wondering if i should even spent the money on it or will it be **** in games as 9200?
and plz, don't start recommend 9600 ETC and say they only cost 50$ or so -I'm broke!

9550 should be fine if you're that tight.... it will be better than a 9200 no doubt..

Trust me, I was like you 2 years back.. I had barely enough to get a box of floppy disk..

and i should get more money after i start working in a month or so, then i will buy an AMD64 rig.

9200 has dx 8.1 support, and 9550 is a full dx9.0b support

the performance will be similar, but superior in 9550, the core and memory speed are bigger, and have more optimizations....

I made a similar change, but didn't really notice much difference, but as RegMaster said it has dx9.0b support and higher speeds.

I run a 9550 in my Sempron 2500. Plays Doom 3 on average settings (only at 800x600 though) - good enough for me, especially as my whole computer, built by yours truely cost less than a GF 7800!
