The Zalman will fit, its just a question the case allowing the top of the fins to stick up above the card (30mm) and the card having split heatsinks for GPU and high speed interconnect chip. The fan on it will cool both the GPU, RAM and HSI chips nicely. Excellent bit of kit!

Ah that may be a problem for the galaxy card then, its a combined heatsink that does both the graphics cpu and memory

    Lee,

Zalman have just released a new heatsink for the HSI chip, the ZM-VHS1.

Partner this with the VF700-Cu and you've got your solution.

Next trick is to find a UK stockists (Scan and Overclock don't have it yet).

I had an Iceberq 4 and it was extremely loud. Very annoying high pitch. It looks like the same fan to me.

Had a look at the artic cooling website, that cooler only fits the 6800 agp cards, for the 6600 you need to use the artic cooling nv 6 silencer and that only fits the pcie cards.

    Shame though

However i have emailed them and asked if they have any plans on bringing out a cooler that supports the 6600gt agp

Is it because the fan is too noisy or because it has broken?

If its just too noisy you can use this to control the fan and it is almost silent when set to auto even when using most games.

    Works on any agp 6600gt

just received this back from artic-cooling

    Dear Lee,

    Thank you for your enquiry.

We have a model NV Silencer 6 (Rev2) which is compatible on NV6600 PCIe and 6600GT PCIe. Unfortunately we do not have a cooler for the NV 6600 AGP versions yet. We will be working this; however there is no solid date of when it will be available. For your information, you may also check the compatibility list of our products from our website. Please visit www.arctic–cooling.com for more information.

    Best Regards,

Urk, I'll have to remember that. If noise is an issue there's always Thermaltake's Schooner which from what I've quickly read up will keep your card a degree or two below stock but looks a nightmare to install (Zalman's legacy, that) especially compared to Arctic Cooling's products.

Personally I think it looks daft but I bring all alternatives to the captain's table
