You using a TFT with a native resolution of 1280x1024 for example?

Also, what type of games will you be playing?

The cards are pretty even in that the ATI is better than nvidia in some games and nvidia better than ATI in others. Best thing to do is check a few reviews of the cards and see.

But generally the cards are pretty even with the ATI card being a faster in really high resolution and Aniso/AA settings.

Just go for whichever one is cheaper or if you are thinking bout goint SLI then go for the 6800 Ultra if it's PCI-E.

Its a simple trade in ...

I ahve a X800 XT PE (Not happy with it) and have been given the chance to exchange for a MSI NX6800 Ultra.. I really like the Nvidia based cards and the performace it has with such games like Bf2 and Doom 3..

Its a 1 for 1 swap if I do it..

They're simillar performance, I guess it depends on what games you play, if you particularly like Bf2 and Doom 3 then go for it. If it's PCI-e then I would say go nVidia.

I would do it as you get more shader features and have some chance of running next gen games playably with good eyecandy.

Yeah i'd certainly go for it. Shame your room will be noticably warmer. Those cards were like heaters man. Wait till you see the heatsink lol.
