Xerox XA7-19i - know anything about it?

Just came across this monitor on Overclock.uk, does anyone know anything about it?

    Xerox XA7-19i

I know the resolution isn't exactly stunning, but my 9800 Pro can't drive much more anyway. The response time seems good, and the price is great. I'm getting much more loan than I expected for my PGCE, and this would do a great job of replacing my ageing CRT.

From what I've read on other sites there's an issue with the panels used in the XA7-19i. The 8ms version comes with 2 (at least) different panels. Not usually an issue, most monitors are like that, but in this case one panel is a P-MVA, the other being TN, giving rather a large difference in various areas of performance in practice. I was very close to buying this monitor, now I'm very reluctant without some sort of guarantee from the retailer than I'd be getting the P_MVA panel version.

    Thoughts?

I have no idea what panel version I have, but I have a Xerox Xa719i, and frankly, it's the dogs bollocks =D

It ended up costing me enough, the company I originally bought it from (Holly Computers), promptly went bankrupt. Bye bye £300. I bought it again from Micro Direct IIRC, which was fine...

I've used CRT's for years, and this is the first "gaming" TFT i've had, and i've been nothing but pleased with it. It's great for everything, from high paced gaming, to DVD's. It's also very aesthetically pleasing. And I've no idea if i'm talking out of my arse, but I swear the glass front gives it a nicer picture.

Not terribly informative as far as seeing it in moving action goes, but i'll post some pics of it in a few days when my Nikon Coolpix 7900 arrives \0/

Edit : I neglected to actually answer any of your questions. Mine has a single DVI input cable hard wired to it. At a guess i'd say the dual input stuff is some overzealous marketing reffering to the DVI>D-SUB convertor it comes with...

I think a big differences might well be the viewable angles, and also, if the theory hold true between TN and MVA panels, you might get a more even response across the gtg spectum with MVA (look for the review of the vp191b on tomshardware). TN have typically shown large(ish) variations in response, so an 8m3 panel might show up several transitions over 20ms causing ghosting. I'm not saying the "optional" TN 8ms panel will have a worse picture, but it could do. There's a massive thread on the OcUK forums concerning the different panels. Hope I am allowed to link to other forums...

seems like ocuk have come to some arrangement with their supplier to sort out MVA only versions, but that will likely hike the price a bit. Personally I'm holding off for a while. TFT's are bound to get better, cheaper, bigger, etc, etc, and my 19" iiyama isn't doing too badly, taking up space excepted

essentially, without a proper analytical review of the two different panels (Xerox was silly to use different types of technology for their optional panels...) we can't say for sure. At the end of the day you might not notice any difference at all between the MVA and TN panels in the xerox monitor. We'll have to wait and see!!
