ive just built a new pc with
3700 san
asus a8n prem
a xfx 6800gt 256
and corsiar ram

when playing half life 2 single player it shuts down

yet it doesnt with hl2 deathmatch and cs:s

any help much apreicated

Checked your temps? Tried different GFX drivers?

Also i have heard there are some isuses with sound in HL2 at the moment. Try running it with your sound card disabled. Might be worth a look on the Steam forums too.

Just thinking it could be CPU temp related, multiplayer isn't really CPU intensive so could be related to that.

the pc doesnt shut down in prime 95, i'll try with sound card diadsbaled

it was the mobo trying to run in sli cos it was set to auto but i only have one gpu well done asus
