Careful - there is reports of monitors dieing with the new drivers ( i think its only one case, well ATI claims this anyway )

That worries me as it was after i installed the 3.8 cats iirc that my monitor wouldn't display xp due to the refresh being above 174mhz :/

If i had a hdd to back up to i'd reinstall fully with 3.7's, but i'm stuck with the onboard for now

i had corruption on my 9700np i think (i have 3.8 atm), but it was only for a few seconds at end of map in cs, green, blue, red and a white line stuck out from the players that were on the screen. my case temp is hot atm and im using a worse than stock cooler so i wasnt suprised, but ive cooled it down a bit now, seems fine

I had no problems what so ever when I was running the 3.8's, no monitor trouble, no GFX troubles and no increased heat.

There has been more than one complaint of this, visit rage3d's forums. "Touch Wood" I personally haven't had any trouble but it is a rather worrying revelation

I dont have a direct link but you will find on the rage forums some speculation as to what is causing the problem and what to do to correct it.

I also had no troubles; my monitor, 3d card and everything else worked as normal.

Well... I say 'no trouble', my PC did clap up completely a few days later, but I doubt that was releated to the Cat 3.8s.
