    Dissapointing R520

The performance will be very close to existing 7800 GTX but we don’t know weather will R520 end up faster or slower than this Nvidia flagship card. However it turns out it will be close, very close.

Thats dissapointing, i thought everyone said this was gonna kill the 78000GTX, and it was gonna be TWISE as FAST as the X850XT. well looks like im (and others with the X800/50XTs) gonna wait untill they release the R580 in the 1st quarter 06. im guessing march (plz correct me if im wrong).

    ATi 520

I wouldn't be surprised if the performance is very close to the 7800GTX. Don't forget that ATi have made some major changes (32bit + SM3.0 plus others)! Incorporating those will probably have cost them some performance.

If that is the case then it's crossfire performance will have to be it's selling point, and of course that only applies if it is better than SLI. It will have to price well too.

I think this R520 FUDO is a diferent GPU that the original one, that will end up like R580. If u see, R580 has all tecnologies/specs that ATI previewed for the original R520 FUDO: 24/32 pipelines, good clocks, SM3.0. nVidia did the same with FX5900, when FX5800Ultra wasn't enough for Radeon 9700/9800
