becuase they get in my screen, WALK ABOUT inside the thing....WHILE I'M TRYING TO PLAY IL-2, so I'm permanently chasing MOVING targets in the sky that ARE flying things....they're blumin' midges in my screen.

Take it back to LG.

Should be resonably easy to do if you take your time with it.

only try it if its not in warrenty, if it is LG should be able to clean it for you.

Also dont use it at night when all of the lights are off and windows open. Make sure theres always one other light for the insets to play with.

A few people I know have used compressed air to free the little blighters. Shame that they can get in really. I'd be mega miffed if I bought a nice 28" widescreen TFT and a week later it was full of thunder-flies.

saying that up's northern lackies don't see many thunder-flies... infact the only flying things we see tend to be called clouds,planes, birds and "india 99"

So what is the alternative to compressed air in this case? A colleagues screen at work (Samsung 17" not particularly sure exact model) has a dead bug in it. Mildly annoying I must say. I wouldn't imagine youcould just take it apart and take it out... RMA?

You mean the tiny little black ones? Thunderthrips I always called them. Exactly the same thing has happenned to me with this L1510S TFT, you suddenly notice a little black thing moving along the screen, so you go to brush/flick it off but realise to your horror that the damned thing is acually inside the panel! Luckily its only happenned a few times, & luckily none of them died in the screen, they all wandered off behind the bezel & disappeared.

Slight design flaw, but its not really one of the basic packages of tests at the LG laboratories now is it, 'impact test, humidity test, insect invasion test'. I sure hop that non of them decide to die in MY panel.

got about 9 lil critters in my NEC 1760NX. I knocked them down to the bottom of the screen by sharply giving the SIDE of the display chassis a gentle tap. Whatever you do NEVER, NEVER! tap the actual display, you're liable to crack the panel and then you wish you only had dead bugs in it!

I was more terrified that I would crush the critters & end up with little black bloody messes spotting the screen!
