    9800XT Please help

hi, the other night my bro was playing battlefield 2 with his 9800xt and everything was ok, after he switched off computer and went too bed.

today he turn on computer and the moniter says there is no signal please check cable. so i check cable and nothing wrong i even check moniter on another pc everything is ok so its not the moniter,

im got worried and checked the computer on another moniter and the moniter would go on to standby all the time, tried vga and dvi same thing so its the gpu

i looked at the fan of the GPU and its spinning i removed 9800xt and check moniter with intergrated intel crappy extreme graphics everything is cool.

so its got to be the 9800xt, but why? has it died on me? becuase the fans still spinning

can anyone help me plz any comments will be apprieciated.

    thanks in advance

Could be a quiet burn out.

Have had it happen to me before, the fan got stuck, burnt the GPU but when I checked it, it was running fine.

Luckily it was still in warranty and I successfully flogged it

did u have to RMA it back to Canada HQ or do they have a European HQ too?

and i replaced the Stock cooler with an Artic silencer, will that effect my chance of getting RMA?

Who's the manufacturer of the card?

You normally have to RMA it to the retailer

Spend a touch more for a 6600gt. Is about equivalent.

Has nothing on the 6600gt. The closest would be the x800gt, but its pci-e only.

If you can get a bit more you'll be able to easily find a 2ndhand X800PRO for £160

But keep your eye on the futuremark forums and others too. They pop up from time to time.
