Poor DVD & Film Clip Playback

I have recently bought and installed a GEForce 6600 256MB (non GT) graphics card.

I have connected it up to by 19" Ag Neovo F-419 TFT via DVI. I've set the resolution to 1280x1024 @ 60 hertz refresh.

Games (like Halo) play fantastically - however playing DVDs and avi, mpeg film clips etc. through WMP10 or PowerDVD or Windvd is a lot worse that it use to be via Analogue. The picture looks very "digitally processed" - and you can see "waves" in the colour variation. Frankly it's very disappointing.

I have the latest Nvidia drivers (78.01) and my PC is 3.2Ghz - (XP Sp2). I've tried adjusting Overlay etc. but to no avail.

Any ideas???? I'm a bit miffed to say the least.

try an earlier version of the drivers, I am using 76.50 and its perfect, I encountered the same problem with using the latest drivers from Nvidia.

Tried it - no better really - nor is replacing DVI with VGA.

I might try unplugging Graphics Card and see if I can replicate old playback.

Does the Bios make a difference - I am running 5.43.02.46 - not sure what that means?
