    Best low profile AGP card?

I've put together an Intel P4c 2.6Ghz system in a slimline desktop case, using an asrock mATX i865 motherboard. The motherboard has an 8x AGP slot which is currently populated with a geForce FX5200 128Mb videocard.

I would like to be able to play the ocasional game on this PC, nothing too fancy and to be perfectly honest the performance of the 5200 is dire

I need a recommendation for a half height low peofile AGP videocard - any ideas?

i dont think you can find many low profile cards that would probably out perform the one you have. Maybe the Ati Radeon 9250. i think that one is low profile.

Radeon 9250's are OK, i've got a cheap one im my Aopen Mz855-II

A better card to get would be an nvidia 6200 based card, you can get them passivly cooled with upto 512MB ram!!! plus their quite cheap too

the 6200 is one of the fastest low profile graphics you can get i believe

A 9250 will really be no noticeably better than a 5200 (assuming your 5200 is a 128-bit version).

6200s do not come with 512MB of RAM, they come with 'turbo-cache'. The board itself has something like 64mb of ram, but you can use system ram to take that to 512mb. However this feature is only available on PCI-express where the interface is actually fast enough to handle the higher throughput.

the 6200A AGP does come with upto 512MB of physical on the graphics card RAM, they sell em at ebuyer.com (Quick Find 90890)

Don't ask me why they do em with that much RAM, completly pointless in a card of that spec, but they do em
