Cheap TFT - Selection Help Required

I am looking to purchase a TFT for £150-200. I would like some recommendations on a decent one. Here is what I am looking to get for my money.

    Size: 19"
    Response Time: 16ms or lower
    Native Resolution: 1280x1024 or better

I would not sacrifice any of those specifications for lower ones. If possible I would like a monitor with a black rim. If any of those specifications could be better, I would prefer it to be the resolution. If not just a good response time would be nice. I did find this monitor for £208 + P&P and that has 8ms. So is there anything better out there?

Why not try the Scan today only offer. As a hexite ? you can get free delivery.
I like the look of the AG Neovo F-419 but there are others you can choose.

Hey dude I'm also looking for a new TFT. I think the Samsung SM913N is ur safest choice. Its very popular at the moment, and is going very cheaply. Remember it has no DVI however apparently there is no difference for this panel. I would be getting it but I just don't know if it will look good with my black case (raidmax ninja), black keyboard (saitek eclipse) and black speakers etc.

If you can shell out another £50, your options open up greatly. You could get a 4ms Samsung 930BF, which is relatively new. Or one of the Viewsonic range.

If you dont want to shell out and dont care about looks I recommend checking out some of the aria specials. You can pick up a decent 19" tft for about £160 there.

Personally I'm torn between three screens the Iiyama E431S (got very good reviews here), the Samsung SM730BF (new 17" 4ms panel) and the Samsung 913N.

Unfortunately I don't think you're going to be able to better 1280x1024 with a 19" screen. I don't know of any that go higher. You'd have to go up to a 20" to get 1600x1200 but that will cost way over your budget. More than double afaik.

Unless you really need the extra screen area there is not much benefit to the 19" over a 17" as they both operate at the same native resolution. It's just that the pixels are bigger on a 19" screen.

I bought two of the Digimate 17" 16ms screens from Aria almost a year ago. Cost me around £140 each and the quality for games is superb.

I agree whole heartedly! I got one of these monitors when it was a bit newer, and paid a bit more for it. It's a fantastic model, and my one is dead pixel free too. Can't claim that one you buy will be too, but it's quite likely! komplett.co.uk were doing a very good deal on them IIRC, around £200. The only downside with this model is the lack of a DVI port, but believe me when I say you really don't need it if you're using it as a PC monitor.

If you can afford push it to 350 I recommend the Dell 2005FPW (seeing as I just ordered one!), its 20" and widescreen....

I will probably have to wait a while longer now due to the need to upgrade some other parts of my system. I may save up and buy the Samsung SM913N after Christmas.
