    ATI X800GTO Fireblade

Apologies if already posted but this card seems to be the bargain of the year.

12 pipelines which can be unlocked to 16 via a bios mod and can be upped in speed to 850xt levels. All for £123 cheapest I have found in Germany....

Would it be easy to unlock? Because I know that not all cards can be unlocked that easy with previous models of different cards (like (9800SE to Pro)

The X800GTO is not an X800GT,....there is a difference.

There is supposedly a 100% chance of unlocking the other 4 pipes with the modified BIOS. Getting X850X PE speed on mem and core is another matter however,…

From what I have heard overclocking mem and core to X850XT PE speed has been very promising,…

    I may buy one,….

Only seems to work on the Sapphire version though. The Firblade known elsewhere as a GTO2. On sale in Germany at 133 euros roughly making £123 but they won't sell to UK. Thought there was a Single European Market !!!!

    Where is that from matty?

This isn't going to help my dilemma about buying now or waiting til the new cards come along! I suppose if it comes to the worst an unlocked 800GTO2 might fetch a few quid on Ebay!

Bought my Shuttle from them and they have been very good to me matching prices of other retailers. Just need a gfx card now. Was informed they will be in short supply and they would be only getting 5 in within the next 7 days (a few days ago)

Why would anyone want that when the X800XL (the 16 pipe version of the card) is only $250.00 in some places?

Cheers for the Tekheads link mattykhz, I hadn't looked there.

Fair point StormPC, Scan has a Sapphire X800XL (R430 core?) in stock at £186.83 and an out of stock Asus for £176.24 with video in/out (obviously with £0 postage for you lucky regulars). With postage the Tekheads GTO2 would be £162.85

Annoyingly, with the driver release, the 6600GT is now looking more competitive again, and the 6800 series should bump down a price notch in a few weeks. I swear someone's writing a storyline here, it would be complicated enough to confuse Poirot. *Holds head in hands*

As far as I'm aware the Fireblade is a standard GTO and cannot be modded to up the pipelines. The GTO2 can but is not yet released, pictures here:

That does now seem to be the case, as GTO2 pictures are in the gallery on Sapphire's website but not listed with other cards. So conclusion about Fireblade was wrong......

Had an email from Tekheads saying they will be getting some OEM cards in at between £125 and £129 plus VAT.

I just want one ASAP as my shuttle build is just needing the graphics card. Only know of Overclockers also getting these in but not sure when and at what price.....
