    the £198 is a x800xl and has 16 pipelines, the £130 card is a x800 which has 12 pipelines

however everything I have seen indicates the x800 axctually has RAM runnign at 980MHZ - Scan may have not got the right info on their page, all reviews show the Gigabyte GV-RX80256D having 980mhz ram.

the x800xl is still faster. Depends on your needs though (resolution, what games etc)

If I remember correctly cards with Vivo are usually better at unlocking extra pipes. More pipes = more bandwidth (please correct me if I'm wrong) which usually results in a performance gain (especially with higher resolutions) Although its still a "hit and miss" affair unlocking extra pipes on any graphics card!
