Max dual screen resolution supported by 7800GTX?

I am trying to work out basically if a 7800GTX can support dual monitors through DVI at 1920x1200 each, in particular looking at a pair of Apple 23"ers. I am pretty sure it doesn't do the 2560x1600 of the 30" screens, and I think a pair of them would be a little oversized on my desk

    Looks like it should.

nVidia product info for 7800 series:
    Dual 400MHz RAMDACs
Blazing-fast RAMDACs support dual QXGA displays with ultra-high, ergonomic refresh rates–up to 2048x1536@85Hz.

From the modes.txt file from the 78.01 drivers (32 bit mode):

    Normal mode:
    2048 x 1536 32 60 70 72 75 85
    Horizontal spanning mode:
    3840 x 1200 32 60 70 72 75 85
    3840 x 1440 32 60 70 72 75 85
    4096 x 1536 32 60 70 72 75 85

Could be talking boo-lox, but looks like you'ld be ok...

Of course, they also include the following caveat...

NVIDIA GPUs are enabled to support multi-displays, but graphics cards vary. Please verify multi-display support in the graphics card before purchasing.

So I guess the 7800 GPU is capable of the resolution, but the final answer would come from the card vendor!

hummm.. I've got an XFX one. I presume it works, will do more browsing, maybe e-mail/ring xfx to see what they say.

Another related question, can a pair of 7800GTXs in SLi output to 4 monitors? And possibly then 4 at 1920x1200? This is purely interest, I'm not insane enough to want 4 screens like that

I think 2 GF based cards can be used to control different monitors, so a dual 7800 system could control 4 of them. However, if I'm reading the release information corerctly, the cards have to be running independently..... so it wouldn't work if you SLI'd them.

I think I'm finding about the same thing about using them SLi, that they each only have 1 active DVI port when SLi is in use, so still the 2 screens.
