7800 GT now or wait for 1800?

    Hello
I am upgrading my old pc and need to get a new card to replace my woefully old 5900 and was looking at a 7800 GT for $350, but with ATi's new kine coming out in about 2 weeks should i wait or just grab the nvidia now. also im not looking to spend anymore than 350 so if anyone knows what will be available at that price compared to a 7800 GT please let me know how it would compare. thank you for your help!

    -Tony

I would be tempted to wait, see what price point/performance the ati card is if its only two weeks away. That said, I went with nvidia because a) i have a linux partition i keep breaking b) I have an nf4 motherboard and c) I spotted a pcie nvidia 6600 for £55 at novatech when I was buying - an no, it was the last one, so i didn't post in the bargains section!

Prices will be high at launch... so I guess you'll have to wait another 2 to 3 weeks before you ought to buy one.

I would wait. I've been waiting for a few months for the new ATI range
We cannot choose what we are.. but what are we but the sum of our choices?

I would also wait on the new ATI cards coming out as a price war is sure to break out at some point which is always good for us consumers.

Wait a minute the guy said a new card...not a whole new system!!

A 6800GT or an X800XT PE would rock hard
    Check my project <<| Black3D |>>
