Question Please recommend me a PCI-E graphics card

    Hello ladies and gents,
I am just about to buy a new graphics card through www.scan.co.uk. I wonder whether you can recommend me one? The card is to go into a ST20 shuttle and I am looking at spending about £150. For reference I currently own a Radeon 9700 Pro and am looking for a substantial performance boost.

Thanks to anyone who can help,
    Leon

What do you class as substantial?

Imo you won't get what I class as a substantial gain for £150.
You can get an X800XL for about £175 though.

Agree with Buff. For a decent boost you need x800xl or 6800gt. You should go the extra £30.

I would go fore an x800xl over a 6800gt any day (and the prices will come down overnight when new ati cards come, so prob around £150)

GTO2 from Sapphire is a nice card

or a 6800GT (if you can get one cheap enough)

Depends - there is a heap at that price point

GTO2 should be out monday, Tekheads have them for about £150

either that or a standard gto, both will give a big performance boost over a 9700pro
