    (Slightly) Defective Samsung 930BF

A week ago i ordered and receaved a 19" Samsung SM930BF 4ms Moniter, with 3yrs Onsite from MicroDirect

The moniter arriived looking fine and worked finem but on close inspection there is a 'smudge' about 1*3cm long and about a third of the way in from the right side.
    - It looks almost like its just a bad a fingerprint, but is clearly internal, maybe uneven backlighting?

The thing is was wondering what to do about it.
    - What is it, and would they take it back?
    - Is it likly to get any worse over time (years/months/days)
    - How can i find out if this is covered my the 3yr onsite, if so would they just come an swap it oneday?
    - Im at uni, and its the only screen i have, so sending it back would be a pain, unless i got the replacement before that.
    - Would they do the onsite thing at uni, seeing as i got it delivered to home before i came?

Thanks in advance. This is just a such a pain right in the middle of freashers and everything

just in case it getting worse and worse, it will be better send it back stright way. this is falty of the product, you should get the replacement, or other wise total refund.
dont know how long you had it, get the invoice and give them phone call.

The date on the invoice is 23/09/05, and it arrived one the 28th, so not long.

    - I guess i'll ring them up monday.
    - Will they want it back before they send a replacment, or will they come onsite with a new one?

i believe in the most cases they will require you bring the falty one to them, this way they can either give you a instant replacement or refund. but u need ring them to find out, since the time is not to long, like in Maplin 15 days, Games 10 days, so should be ok.

Well, i got an emial back from MD, the just said to ring samsung.

    - So i ran samsung, and they are now reaplacing it with a 'Reconditioned Unit'
    - There sending a courier out next tuesday to do that swap.

Sp im not nesserserally geting a new one, but as it s relativly new model, its not going to be very old even if it reconditioned, and i guess theres a decent chance it will acctually be a new one anyway.

When they say reconditioned, its basically one unit theyve replaced all the damaged bits on, with new ones. So in effect, its a new screen.
