Recently bought an agp leadtek 6800 (not LE etc but normal, 12 pipes) for about 100 quid and got the stock fan changed for another tenner.

    Happy with that.

currently leaning towards the Gigabyte N66T128VP-Gefore6600GT from Scan for £98.59 + VAT.

Anyone have one of these? I know i can't get better performance for the money compared tot eh 9800 pro but this is slightly better... any thoughts?

    Bah thought it was

In that case a 6800NU would be good: unlock the pipes and clock it up to near a GT's speed

ebuyers stock leadtek A400GTs.. if i remembered correctly..

these are massive cards with copper sinks on both sides... other than the measly 60mm fan.. which luckily can be easily removed. Coupled with a 2 80mm fans on each end.. 435/1200 is not impossible..

Faster in terms of core & memory clocks maybe, but that doesnt mean it will give you faster frame rates.
Check out Anandtech etc for benchmarks

No the 6800 clocked and unlocked will get far better frames than a 6600GT: the architecture of the 6800 chip is what makes the difference: more pipes and funky stuff (can't be arsed going into it)

Gecube do have an x800GT0 - its advertised as in stock at lowestonweb.com. It has 12 pipelined and is 110quid inc VAT - surely a bargain

    Link: http://www.lowestonweb.com/Products/...E-7EE073E25BF4

I'd definitely go for that over a 6800
