Which is Faster? 6600GT or 6800XT.

Thinking of buying one of the following GFX cards from scan computers.

1) Gigabyte N66T128VP (NVidia 6600GT - 500MHz core, 1120MHz GDDR3) - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=178511

2) XFX 6800XT Extreme Edition (NVidia 6800XT - 325MHz core, 700MHz DDR) - http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=274560

Now I know that the 6800 is higher then the 6600 but the 6600GT is the top of the line 6600 chip while the 6800XT is the bottom of the range 6800 chip + GDDR3 is faster then DDR.

So which is better? both cost the same.

this is basically exactly what i want to know as well

only the 6600GT is by PNY and slightly cheaper than the 6800XT.

So yeah many thanks to anyone who can throw some light onto the subject :)

THe 6800XT is essentially he same as the 6800LE, and there have been MANY discussions regarding the relative merits of the 6600GT and the 6800LE. Have a look round Hexus /the web...

I understand that the performance differences between the two are marginal.
