the picts are so small.. cant see...
Me want Ultrabook
Those are capacitors not resistors.
Even if you could find out the values how exactly where you going to fix your card? Unless you work for a company that does that kind of electronics, you will have trouble finding replacements, and the tools to fit them.
It is Realy hard to fit surface mount components (I have tried it), especaly if there are other componets nearby.
Perhaps you should try running that card as a slave in an SLI setup. Perhaps the broken capacitors are only used in the final display, and the GPU & memory is not affected. If it works in that situation you should be able to sell the card on eBay as an SLI slave.
I am very good at my soldering, so fitting them wont be a problem. Cany try as an SLI slave as I havent got another card.
YOu didnt keep the capacitors?
I asked my dad to find a screwdriver small enough to fit as all mine were too big. Anyway I went downstairs after an hour and he had removed all the screws, I put on my 7800gt waterblock and fired it up in the system and hey presto major artifacts. Looked around the board yesterday and noticed that these were missing.
But could it possibly work as a SLI slave? What are the chances of this???
Is that the output side? Or the bit that faces in side? If its the former id say mediocre, the latter pretty much definately not. Not implying youre daft but if thats a photo of your card then the capacitors are still in place.
If I bought a BFG 7800gt could I test SLI with the XFX 7800gt??
yes, but if you can drop so much money just like that then you have too much and need to buy me one as well for being so helpful
Ive got saving Accounts and If it works I can go SLI if not I will sell XFX as faulty
Sorry didnt understand you previous post the capacttors are on the underneat not the side with the GPU and ram on
I meant toward the monitor port side or toward the drive bay side.
Faces the inside![]()
Odd are it wont work then???? Damn. Could I not just try jumping the spots where the capacitors were![]()
