Question which 19" TFT opinions required

    Morning guys,

I'm new to the forums and spent 10 minutes looking around to find a good place to post this. Please forgive me if it's in the wrong place.

I've been looking around the web for a new 19" TFT monitor. But still failing to find an appropiate one. Most now cater for games rather than movies.

Can anyone recommend a decent TFT for movies and gaming? I've got a budget around £300.00. Haven't really got a make in mind. Although I currently own a Sony 15" which is 5 years old! Hence why the upgrade! I would never go back to CRT's

    Thanks guys,

    John

This and I think it's great!

And they've brought the price down - I paid £10 more than that a month ago...

    Hello,

Can I ask what I'm ment to be looking at? For movies is it the response rate and the viewing angle or something else?

I have a Sony SDM-X93B pretty good monitor. I think its been surpassed with a X95B but have a look for it. Should be on ebuyer or something.

    how about
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=168320
    or
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=288943
and forfilms you should look for a low response time so that you dont get gousting.
A large viewing angle will mean that you wont have to be directly in front of it to see it

edit: this one looks good as well

I've seen the Hyundai L90D+ for £250 recently or if you can stretch your budget (and video card) a bit you can get a 2005FPW for £320 from aria

Do you want DVI input? I so, then I can recommend the Hyundai ImageQuest L90D+. I use this monitor regularly on my home PC and it's superb. 16.7m colours and fairly rapid response time that is perfect for DVD's and games. It's around £250 from Scan.

If you don't need DVI then you can save yourself £60 and get the LG1915S. It's a nice looking monitor with 12mS response time and 16.7m colours. Not bad for DVD's and games. I bought this one for my dad last week from Scan and he was well chuffed with it! Around £193 from Scan although I got mine for £183 on a Today Only offer.

Both the above TFT's have an integrated PSU.

We use the 17" versions of those monitors at work, and they're great. Although the viewing angle isn't the absolute best I've seen, it is better than most, but the colour reproduction and the clarity of the screen, even on VGA is amazing, especially when you consider the price!
