    Poor 3D Marks Score

I'm getting a poor score of 3445 on 3d Marks 2005 - but my PC is pretty well specced (first post here, but I believe you can read my spec rather then me typing it all out...sorry if that hasn't worked!).

Anyone have any idea's why this is happening?

    Thanks all

At the risk of upsetting people I would say ignore 3D mark and find out how your PC plays in games. If its running the games well then why bother with a 3D mark

wow, that is pretty poor Think I get around 3k on my half speed 6600!

As far as whats wrong with it? Could be anything, really - but something is making it go slow - first determine if your PC is underperforming in all 3d apps, try other benchmarking progs. If it is just '05 forget it, but it probably won't be. If its everything, well start by reinstalling every device driver, with latest versions, and getting rid of unwanted processes.

And keep your fingers crossed. Like I say, it really could be anything.

    Good Luck

Post your pc's spec and OS? Then we can see what may be wrong.

    How is the score calculated?

I got just over 1000 in 3D Mark 2003 and my computer (see specifications) was top of the 'range' 2 years ago.
Just build another computer for my cousin and with:
    3200 939 AMD CPU
    512MB 3200 (400Mhz) RAM
    256MB 6600GTO (500Mhz core /1000Mhz memory) graphics card

his computer got a score of 8000 marks.

Both systems use windows xp (no service packs) and box-standard settings, no overclocking. They also run battlefield vietnam and similar games fine with hardly any hold up.
    Woohoo now Assistant Manager!
