    XFX 6600GT Core temperature?

    Hey all,

I just got an XFX 6600GT. Installed it a few moments ago.

    Quick question:

What should the standing temperature of the GPU core?

For me its reading 59C, unloaded.

I think this is OK, because the threshold temperature is apparently 145C.

Just wanted to check. I'm coming from a Radeon 9600XT, which ran at 35C unloaded.

    Thanks!

    Mut.

My old Sparkel 6600gt would sit at ~60c idle and ~90c load. If you start getting artifacts and problems then worry but the fact that the card doesn't actually start to slow itself down ie hit its threshold temp until 145c means that anything below that should be more than fine.

My 6800 is around - 58 idle and 82 full load iirc. Your temps should be fine as there is an autothrottle around 120C so you will notice a lot of slowdown if your core is getting too hot.

    Thanks guys.

I did some temperature monitoring using RivaTuner, and even under load (playing BF2) the temperature didn't get much over 60.
