    Samsung - 930BF Vs 940T

    Hi,

About 6weeks ago now i bought a Samsung 930BF, which was faulty on arrival, finnally it has ben swaped, but for a 940T, rather than a another 930BF

I cant find hardly any info on the 940T other than the samsung site, and a few copys of it, and so i really just checking up that its a good pannel, and that i havnt been 'done' by samsung.

So, which is the nicer pannel, the SM 930BF or the SM 940T??

I will be using it at uni, mainly for surfing the net, but also a few rounds of Unreal Tournament, and quite a lot of cad work. (solidedge)

The specs kinda speak for themself, I would say the 940T looks better, the contrast is better, but the repsonse time is 5 times slower. If you're not going to be playing many games then that shouldn't be a problem. But is the 940T the same cost as the 930BF, it might be worth contacting Samsung to clarify that they haven't accidently shipped the wrong model anyway.

    Yeah, i noticed the contrast,
    - On the 930bf light shades dissapeared alot, thing like new messages in hotmial inboxes, and light greys where almost indistigusable at times.

Also, is it true that although branded as 4ms the 930 is just a 8ms pannel pushed a bit harder?

No idea, I don't really know much about the Samsung panels, but even if it is still an 8ms panel pushed harder it is still better that the 20 ms response time of the other monitor. Saying that i don't notice too many problems with my old 25ms panel while playing games, although a mate has noticed when watching from an angle.

Comparing the two specs, one is better at one thing while the other is better at something else.

As you said you're not gonna be gaming on it too much I woulda thought that either panel would be just fine, but it might be worth looking into which is the most expensive panel and if the 930 is more expensive contact Samsung, if the 940 is more expensive then keep it and say nothing!!!

Ive had a look, and the prices ive found show the 940 to be the more expesive, at around £310-315ish, compaid to £237-250 for the 930
    - Hopefully tomorrow i will get time to play a round or UT on it and see what its like!
