    Motherboard help for a newb!

Hi everyone, im kev, and a bit of a new guy to this forum and computer tech stuff!

Just wondering if you gurus could shed some light on a couple of questions i have about a motherboard, graphics and sound? Heres the product:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=97166

And the questions i have are:

    1. Does this board have on board graphics and sound, aka will it actually work without seperate cards?

    2. I've heard some say people are overclocking this chip from 1.8 to 2.8GHZ! Any links or info you can provide me with as when i buy it i will probably try overclocking!

Cheers if you can help me,

    regards,

    Kev

EDIT: sorry, i've posted this in the wrong section i think!

    Hi Kev, welcome to Hexus

Well that motherboard seems to have built in sound as most motherboards do, but not built in graphics - however I would advise keeping away from integrated graphics unless absolutely nessecary, even if you want to get a cheap £20 graphics card. It actually has PCI-E slots, you so can get quite a large range of modern cards.

Yeah that may be the Venice core Athlon 3000, but I am completely unsure if there is another Socket 939 based 3000 that the processor might be. If there is another 3000 Socket 939 based CPU out there, and it is that, then it has quite bad prospects of overclocking. Also most bundled coolers are only adequate and do the job, nothing more, so you can't expect it to cool a CPU well from jumping from its comfortable 1.8ghz to 2.8ghz lol.

However I cannot remember how well Venices overclock, you may be thinking about the AMD Opteron 144/146 Socket 939 (out of stock everywhere) which have been causing much stir recently.
