I'm looking for a TV tuner card which:
- Is fully supported by XP MCE 2005
- Has at least one input capable of Freeview
- Has a Composite Video or S-Videoinput and analog RCA audio inputs (for my Playstation2)
- Can be used (by XP MCE? Is this possible?) to record straight to the hard disk
I was thinking about the Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1300 (http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/pages/pro...a_hvr1300.html) anyone used one?
Have you been able to find one of these yet ?
I am looking for a similar spec, and the Hauppauge looks a good way to go. I guess I will get one from a retailer with a good returns policy in case it doesnt do everything it needs too...
I posted in another thread regarding DVB-T and MCE.
Take a look on Scan, they have a Nova-T and a Kworld. The Kworld is definitely the best value card i've seen (also according to the Linux-DVB driver development mailing list, it is actually a very good quality card - good tuner and frontend). Has AV connections as well and DVB-T and the drivers on the KWorld site are MCE compatible.

Well I got the card... and it only comes with a driver for MCE. This does install on my XP Pro system but theres nothing to acutally view the TV or S-Video inputs on...
So I remembered reading about Media Portal (http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net) which is an alternative frontend which gives XP Pro the functionality of MCE. Installed that, it picked up the card no problem but I'm having trouble getting the TV part set up. No matter which of the 10 channels it finds when autoscanning it tells me that "TV channel is scrambled!".
I have posted on the Media Portal forums about this but if anyone here can tell me anything I'd be happy to hear it...
