    Which 19" TFT Monitor?

    Hello people,

I'm looking for a new TFT monitor and have the region of around £300 maybe £350.00. Want to watch TV / DVD's mainly and maybe the odd 1 or 2 games. Can anyone suggest any since theres so many.

    Thanks

if you have £300 - £350 to spend then go for a Dell 20" tft mate!
bigger and you can get a higher resolution than a 19" tft
    - A decent 19" tft will only cost around £180 - £200,
www.scan.co.uk - some good screens on there
    and
www.ariapc.co.uk - also pretty decent for screens

or if you have the space you can get a decent 21" CRT that will kick any TFT to touch

    eg

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=99071

for a bit more (closer to 400) you can get a 22" one

I am in the same position, do I got for the Veiwsonic VX924 TFT or the Samsung Synchmaster 1100DF 21" CRT. I am so used to 1600x1200 that I don't think I could take the drop to TFT 1280 sizes just yet due to the PC being mainly for gaming these days.

If you buy from aria be sure to get the pixel check. Otherwise I'm 99% cetain you'll get some faulty pixels on yer screen. Sure they have a checked and with pixels pile and an unchecked pile. Order a screen without check they use the faulty pile.

That all depends on the quality of the CRT

compared to my crappy 17" CRT, my current 19" LG TFT is tonnes better in almost every respect. (currently have to use a tft as couldnt bring over my CRT from england to switzerland )

but..compared to my 21" samsung CRT, my tft is worse. Colour and Image quality are not bad so to speak, but they are not as sharp and vibrant as with my samsung. The fact that there is still a viewing angle on TFTs (even though its loads better than it used to be) is also a downside..I hate not being able to change resolution from 1280x1024 aswell, ok so you can change it but doing so just makes everything look 10x worse/blurry. I miss 1600x1200 and the flexability of my crt

but heh what can you do

I've heard a LOT of praise for the 19" Samsung 930BF (4ms screen), so i've just ordered myself one. Will let you know how it is.

I recently bought a 19" AG Neovo F419 12ms Black DVI TFT Monitor for £200 and its now at £190. Its a beautiful monitor with a wide viewing angle and I can highly recommend it. It can pixel perfect too.

i'd definitely vote for a 20" dell - proper 24-bit color and 1600x1200 (none of the 18-bit-and-1280 nonsense of 19" screens)
