i was about to post about this. It's competing against the 30" apple screen to people this it will be less than $2500.

    Very impressive spec too.

    Hugeeeee

Looks really good, if it lives up to the quality of the previous Dell screens then it'll be a winner no doubt.

I'm not sure how many people need a monitor that big, most people sit too close to their PC's, but it would be a sweet replacement for a TV assuming its hooked up to a HTPC.

wow you apparently need a dual link DVI-D to run this monster, WQXGA (2560 x 1600) liking those numbers.

agree with you iMc...way too big for PC mon unless you sitting a good 1-1.5m away

got a bad feeling I end up getting this...waiting for Dell to release price...I think the damage is going to be around £1500.

Don't think I'd want a monitor that big for general use.

    Yah I agree.

24" is about as big as you want to get for general everyday use.

Looks very nice - nice to see Dell have made the stand look classier, as that last stand looked rather naff. Overall design looks much better, and it'll be nice to see that design filter down to smaller screens. I'd probably go for a 24 inch wide one if I had the cash. One of those and a 7800GTX 512 would be nice...

Not when its a Dual Link DVI screen, ie it uses two DVI ports... so one card per screen.

Hopefully when this is released, the 2405fpw will fall down to about a fiver, and my 2005fpw will go down to 50p.

Are dell thinking about revising their other flat panels? I think that there were some rumors going around that dell were releasing a 20" to accompany the 3007?

30" is far to pic for a pc monitor, 24" is the maximum i could ever need.
