Another TFT thread which 1 ?

Hi all this is my first post so take it easy on me

im looking at buying a TFT on friday i have about £350 to spend on 1 but there seems to be that many good ones on the market at the minute but i am clueless on which 1 to get i was going to get the gateway 21" widescreen high definition lcd flat panel display what looks nice but im in the uk and gateway dont ship to the uk gutted.

so this is what else i have been looking at so if anyone out there who knows there stuff about monitors try and send me in the right direction because i aint got much of a clue i want at the min a 19" and soley for gaming and browsing the net so here we go.

    1. Belinea 102035W 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor total (£358.16 inc p&p)

    2. DELL Ultrasharp 2005FPW 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor total (£361.03 inc p&p)

    3. Viewsonic VX922 19" LCD Monitor total (£349.97 inc p&p)

    4. Viewsonic VX924 19" LCD Monitor (total £272.96 inc p&p)

there we go they are the ones i have had me eyes on and the cheapest prices i could find at the time of this post so if anyone can recommend one of those or any different ones that i have not picked out please help a clueless man i await your helpful replays ?

The 2005FPW gets my vote from that list, its an excellent screen. If you google some reviews of it you will see it comes out on top in most.

2005FPW gets my vote. I have the 2405FPW and it's amazing. The smaller version is of similar quality...

DELL Ultrasharp 2005FPW is my vote. Great quality screen but Viewsonic VX924 's not bad for 19" screen.

samsung 913N - amazing screen, good price - i think they do one with DVI-I input, might be a better choice!
personally not yet seen a single tft that matches a good crt! might just be where im looking though!

2005FPW is a good screen but it think the belinea is better. it uses a faster panel and doesnt have the same backlight bleeding issues. I have one and I think its great

If your a real gamer, the Dell wont keep you happy. Feels laggy due to the response time.

Backlight bleeding is when the light from inside the monitor isnt even across the screen. This causes the image to have a different contrast across it.

See the black is uneven across the screen ? - its mainly noticable at the edges / corners.

The blacklight bleed issue is far more prevalent in Dell monitors than any other brand that I know of. In fact, there's no other brand of monitor that has so many users complaining of a singular issue. Even my Dell laptop has minor blacklight bleed. You'll notice it more on dark areas of the screen with high brightness/contrast levels.

Personally, I'd avoid the Belinea and the Dell and go for something like the Viewsonic VP930. Viewsonic has always have a consistently high reputation for the quality of their monitors though the 3ms response time thing is really a marketing ploy. Bear in mind that they've just updated their product range, so you might want to push for discount on the older range or wait for the new range to filter through.

Other possibilities inlcude the LG 1980Q - good 'middle of the road' monitor and the new Samsungp 193P (looks lovely though I've yet to try it and make sure its the NEW revision - you'll be able to tell by the reference to the "8MS" reponse time).
