if i pay 500 bucks for a video card my wife is gonna smack the crap out of me...
Dont let her find out!!I just tell my wife how its tax deductable since I do web design also from a home based business. yada yada yada
thats funny... i never knew being poor went hand in hand with being married... my computer hobby is moving to the back burner.. she understand though i dont think any amount of conving would make her understand why i need a 500 dollar video card 150-200 maybe, 500 and i am asking to sleep on the couch
The wait for FX5700's should be very short in the US and not unbearable over in the UK. Apparently FX5700ultra's are ready to ship to retailers and early indications are they tend to beat the 9600XT although will the FX archy be their downfall? I think ATI have delayed the 9600XT as sticking better RAM in there would have a significant impact on it's speed and o/c'ability. 9600PRO=400/600 with o/c=530/640 while currently 9600XT=500/600 with o/c=580/640. Since they have 128bitDDR the RAM is easily the bottleneck esp when you o/c them, 4 pipes aren't nice but the 0.13mu and high clocks help to compensate there.
guess i will have to look around alittle more... really dont think nvidia is a option considering the size issue. wish the ati line would drop a few more bucks. thanks for all the input.. one more question, how much do think is a reasonable amount to ask for my MSi Fx5200 128mb
http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=49003 5700 Ultra for sale $208 plus shipping "Availability: Special Order"
nVidia announced today that the whole FX line should be available starting 10/26 (including the 5700)
I think I would rather a 5900 for $220, but it takes up 2 slots and is a little larger.
i was just wondering what does ati stand for? its not important just curious
It's easy to find a FX5200_128MB for under £50 brand new, so I'd imagine getting £35 inc postage would be doing well. I don't think ATI actually stands for anything ...
austin thanks for indulging my questions
=)
