GTO2 for the win if u can find one.. they unlock 16pp and clock to XTPE speeds very easily..

6800GS will hit Ultra level performance easily even with only 12pp.. around 490Mhz i think.. cant be bothered doing the pix fill rate calc again..

I trust nVidia more than Ati, so my vote is for the GF6800.

Well I trust me, and the ATi is a much better card all around.

If you are prepared to void the warranty by unlocking the pipes - the X800GTO2 (only the GTO2 - not the GTO) is by far the better of those two.

like i said, GTO2 for the win.. but 6800GS for the extra stuff u get like Purevideo (add in the extra few quid) and SM3.0..

GS will clock significantly higher compared to traditional 6 series cards.. 550MHz core is possible without voltmod..

running quality 2.0ns GDDR3 should allow 1200-1250ish on stardard volts no probs..

Overclocking the GS is nice, and saying it will be as fast a 6800Ultra with a higher core speed isn't always true. The extra pipes, make a bigger difference at higher res, with more IQ turned on.

Anyways, it's a toss up really, if the GT02's clock as well as everyone says, and they all seem to unlock, then id go for that, a X850XT spanks any 6800 card.

fair enuf... 6800s do get some heavy spanking at stock..

I suppose when overclocked, both cards from ATI and NV should perform pretty similar...

Ok.. a little off topic already..

The GTO*squared* are getting very difficult to find at decent prices.. But will be a good find if u get one at a bargain price..
