how good at stock are 5700u compared with 9700pro? (in dx9!)
I tend to let the reviews speak for themselves, as my opinion could be taken as biased.Originally posted by |SilentDeath|

Don't know why you say that. It's not like you're the technical sales manager for Gainward U.K, is it ?Originally posted by dotanuki

ffs just tell me!
i assume 5700u's are just lower clocked 5900u's, which would just make them very crap, and a 9600pro is better than both in dx9...
dotanuki - as this costs more than a 5900u (cant rememebr where i read that, if i ever did, £450 is what i remember though :/ ), will it manage to overclock past it? which market segment is ur company aiming for?
Clocks at the mo are set to 520 / 1000 but should push a fair bit higher! does that answer the question....? P.S Its DDRII wheras the 5900Ultra was DDROriginally posted by |SilentDeath|

I was told by an nvidia bloke that the stock 5700us would be faster than the 9800 non pro and cheaper. Add watercooling and you should be in for even higher clocks, however specifically dx9, i wouldnt like to sayOriginally posted by |SilentDeath|

I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!
nvidia think there 5900u is better than 9800np... that means nothing
the 5900U is faster than the 9800np though for the most part iirc. Although not in some tests (dx9?), but in the most part youd split hairs in the top end anyway.
Tbh ill wait for real world tests in game.

real world tests are out, the fx range is flawed in its dx9 implementation, which is why they are clocked so high, so they can compeat with atis cards. there dx8 is v good though, and high clocks makes them win in dx8, but for all dx8 games, the 9600pro would be fast enuf, so that doesnt matter...
iirc the 9800xt can do 3x more p/v shader operations than the fx5900u, which is the main reson why its so much better.
iirc the 9800pro and xt are still using 15u process, when they goto 13u, if they do, they should be able to match the 5700u clock speeds.
9600p is already in 13u
anyway, back on topic:
i think bladerunners 5900u w/c one looked a lot better, but as said before, it was too hard to be mass producedThought you guys may want to take a look....
I did point out the dx9 bit in my post

Any idea when non watercooled 5700's will be shipping to retailers, and what the RRP will be?
