    scart Socket to 15pin HD VGA monitor converter

    hi lads

    can anybody help out with this i want to run the output ( scart ) of a free view box to a lcd monitor with a 15pin Vga input. i no you can get a product that will do it but can`t seem to find any.

    erm you'll be lucky. better to put a tv card in your pc, or just buy a 15" tv.

    thanks, did not think of going to maplins, only problem at 60.00 i could get a 14in tv for the money. there was hope of some cable option. only other option is a graphic card with the right type of input.

    the reason theres no cable is cos they're not directly compatible

    no chance with a cheap cable option, since the timing signals used are incompatible (unless your set-top box has progressive scan). If you are going to get a graphics card, you can try s-video in although TBH it would cost as much as one of the converter boxes or a new TV...

    The quality this would give out anyway wouldnt be worth £60.
