    GTO2 Overclocking/Cooling

I have just bought sapphire's famous graphics card. As I intend to eventually squeeze every ounce of performance out of it, I will install a custom cooling solution and replace the GPU chipset heatsinks reapplying the thermal paste with a more efficient one, since i've heard that the job ATI does on the thermal paste does not quite hold for power oveclocking.

I was thinking to use the Artic Cooling ATI v5 (revision 2) and some Zalman ZM-RSH1 GPU Chipset Heatsinks together with the Artic Silver 5 thermal compound.

Anyone knows if the are compatible with the GTO2? Or would you reccomend another heatsink/thermal paste? (Im pretty sure the cooler is the best out there)

I hope it still fits into my barebone after this...

I would go for the Zalman VF700 series rather than the pseudo passive heatpipe thingy.

AS5 is fine, if ud like things cheaper.. AS ceramique is just as good.

I think with most Zalman VF700's you get free heatsinks with it. Its also quieter than the AC.

Sorry to interrupt, does the VF700 do a better job than the Artic Cooling coolers on overclocked cards?

yes it does, at least on a 6 series Nv card..

I tried both, as I have 2 GTs
    AC NV5: 48C idle / 65C load
    VF700-Cu: 43C idle / 58C load

    At 430MHz/1170MHz

Yeah, ive heard the Zalman is the best option for overclocking. Unfortunately, it is also very heavy and bulky, and I have a SFF that will be traveling all around the world. Ive heard it might be dangerous to move the card with that big thing attached, and it might not even fit into my case. Does anyone else have the Shuttle XPC sn25p?

I have the SN25P. If the Zalman takes up more than two slots I wouldnt try it. If not it will work great.

The Zalman does indeed take up more than 1 slot. Its a tad thinner than AC but its still about 1.5slot thick..
