    9800SE AIW Card - £131

What do people think, is it worth buying one of these ? I have a Radeon 9000 Pro 64mb, but a limited budget, and I have wanted a decent TV card for a while, am I just wasting my money on a cheape version of the 9800 ? Or is the possibility of soft modding it to a 9800 just a bonus on a decent budgety card ?

    Look here:
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?threadid=6448
You can get them for £131

Should i get one ? Taking into account this card is going to have to last at the VERY VERY LEAST a year, and more likely 2 years, and probably more.
What do you (Austin) think ?

You may be misunderstanding me a bit, I am not really interested in modding it. I may just leave it as a 9800SE. Is this a decent enough card to last me a while, taking into account im not a performance freak
I do play alot of games like AAO and bf1942 though

Oh yeah. I have this mate, who has one of thes. His before and after softmod results on 3dmark where.

    16546 Before

    20487 After

So if you get a card that soft mods, you really do have a decent card. Just make sure that the one you buy is a 256bit card. Stay away from 128bit ones.

As much as I have been tempted by AIW. I think that in the long term it might be better to get a separate TV card.
That way, you can freely upgrade without having to pay a premium each time.

Also, does the AIW do digital TV? Because some of the more pricey TV cards allows that..
