Thought it was the GTO2 that could only unlock the pipes?

It's worth a try, but if it's a regular GTO it will probably not work.

Aye make sure you're very careful here, otherwise you could end up with a PC that no monitor can work with.

    Don't think so:

^ don't be too dissapointed - my friend had the same idea with that card, the flash did not unlock the pipes but he did clock it to @ 540/540 getting about 5700 3dmark05 with a 2.6ghz oc winchester.

Exactly where did that quote come from??

I would be very wary about believing everything I read on the internet as true...

Not that I won't keep my fingers crossed for you, obviously.

Personally, i'd want atleast 10 people saying exactly that.

Yeah they changed the card after the initial batch, glad I got in early.

Could you not get the money back and go for a 6800GS?

The early batches had to be unlocked/flashed, the newer ones come unlocked and various reports of it being R423 cores, the early ones were R480 cores(used on xt/xtpe)

Can you check with ati tool what core you have?

And how far will it clock?

    Thanks
