LCD's can't burn in, it's not possible. Plasma's and CRT's generate light on the actual pixel, but LCD's don't, they just transmit light through from a backlight.
Don't tell me the Liquid Crystal can become polarised either, as the way they work, they change the polarity every scan, so EVERY pixel is being switched every scan. It would take a very bad design to screw up the LCD electronics somehow, and I don't think Dell do.
Anyway, that's been my understanding from working with them.
